Boat Moorings & Launch Points
Launching point for private boats and short-term moorings at Lochaber Watersports or Linnhe Marina.

Canadian-style Canoeing
Available to hire from Caledonian Activity Breaks, located at the Caledonian Canal, 2 miles outside Fort William. Paddle your own canoe along this historic waterway.

Canyoning
Canyoning is the art of descending a water-course by abseiling, jumping, sliding and swimming. Originally started in the Alps, Vertical Descents were the first company to set up commercial canyoning in Scotland, at nearby Inchree Waterfalls. Trips run on demand.

Available from Tulloch Outdoor Activity Centre, situated a 40 minute drive north from Inchree.

Climbing Instruction
Learn how to ice or rock climb in a safe and controlled environment at The Ice Factor. Taster rock-climbing sessions also available with Vertical Descents.
For multi-day courses in technical rock & ice climbing, (all standards.) we recommend local guiding companies: Abacus Mountaineering with Mike Pescod or West Coast Mountain Guides with Alan Kimber, both of whom hold the highest international guiding qualification, the covetted IFMGA carnet.

Climbing Wall
An exciting development at Kinlochleven, 15 miles from Inchree, The Ice Factor houses the UK's first indoor, real-ice climbing wall. Perfect for honing your technique, or on those bad-weather days in winter. Open all year, so experience the surrealness of ice-climbing in Scotland in August!
The Ice Factor also has the UK's largest articulated rock-climbing wall as well as a varied (and easier) training wall. After your climb session, you can have a beer in their own pub, (recommend the pizzas.) use their sauna and steam room, or visit their gear shop.
Beginner's are most welcome at The Ice Factor, where you can get tuition on both walls from the centre's experienced and qualified staff. Inchree guests get a 10% discount on tuition or courses.

Diving Centres & Training Courses
The Western Highland's Coastline, and in particular, The Sound of Mull, offer world-renowned diving. Puffin Dive Centre, near Oban, and Lochaline Dive Centre, on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, run leisure diver training.
The Underwater Centre, in Fort William, one of the world's most professional diver training centres, offers group diving sessions. (for qualified groups of approx. 10+)

Fishing Tackle Hire / River Fishing Permits
Fishing Scotland, provides coaching in fly fishing for trout, salmon and pike, as well as guided excursions to secluded local streams and lochs.

Fishing tackle hire / sales, as well as permits for trout fishing at the beautiful Glencoe Lochan, (6 miles from Inchree.) can be got from Ballachulish Tourist Information Office.

Mountain-Bike Hire & Purpose-Built Biking Trails
Bike hire available from Vertical Descents, located at Inchree, or Off-beat Bikes, on Fort William High St. Repair service, spare-parts and accessories available from Off-beat also.

Bike hire also available at Nevis Range, situated 5 miles north of Fort William, which has world-championship standard biking tracks. Take the gondola up to the top station and enjoy nearly 2000 feet of exhilirating descent! There's also miles of forest tracks & other courses to pedal on around the bottom gondola station.
Nevis Range hosts world-cup mountain-biking events annually. Check out the Fort William World Cup website for more details.

Guided mountain-biking available from No Fuss, based in Fort William.
A new network of mountain-biking trails has also recently opened at Laggan Wolftrax, about an hour's drive from Inchree, in the Cairngorm National Park.

Paintball
A team game with at least 10 people per side. attacking and defending a team base camp, using paint-firing guns. Run by Vertical Descents.

Quad Bike Tours
Guided, off-road Quad-bike tours at Tulloch Activity Centre, a 40 minute drive north from Inchree.

Sea Kayaking
Guided sea-kayaking instruction and trips from Rockhopper. Try this increasingly popular activity and explore the Western Highland's world-class coastline & inland lochs.

You can also try a superb beginner's sea-kayaking course run by Glenmore Lodge, Scotland's national outdoor centre, and based at Inchree for 5 days. As well as covering the practicalities of handling a kayak, you'll also learn about tides and navigating on the water.

Skiing & Snowboarding Centres
Inchree is situated exactly midway between the Glencoe (White Corries.) & Nevis Range ski areas, (20 minute drive to each.) both of which offer equipment hire and tuition. Each website has daily reports on piste conditions.
